DOHERTY AWARDED TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
Minneapolis, MN – November 9, 2009. Doherty Employer Services and Doherty Staffing Solutions were awarded two prestigious awards at the Minnesota Family Business Awards dinner on October 27, 2009 by the Minnesota Family Business Awards committee. Valerie Doherty won the Female Executive of the Year and both Doherty companies were recognized as the Emerging Award winners.
“Our employees reflect our success. Never did we dream the company would grow and evolve into what it is today,” said Tim Doherty, chairman of Doherty with revenues over $400 million that are generated by placing and employing 10,000 temporary and worksite employees. “The ‘family’ part of this business means so much more than just the Doherty family. According to the Minnesota Family Business Awards, family businesses impact everyone. They comprise 80 to 90 percent of all business enterprises in North America according to widely used statistics. They account for a staggering 50 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product, 60 percent of total U.S. employment, 65 percent of wages paid and 78 percent of all new jobs.
